The Client
The organisation is the UK's largest telecommunications provider. In addition to a strong base in the UK, they have developed a global footprint in order to compete effectively in the rapidly changing communications marketplace.
The Problem
The management team recognised that re-inventing the marketing function as a truly international operation was complicated by the dispersed nature of the workforce, and the specific needs of certain territories. Although expectations and requirements for consultation also varied across different locations, it was important for the change process to be managed seamlessly and fairly.
The Solution
We provided a subject-matter specialist who designed and managed the end-to-end business change process, working with line managers in different territories. This ensured that the business was seen to approach the challenge as a single entity, and that the lines of communication across the business remained open and transparent. We also developed a common selection process and provided additional, independent, input to the senior management appointments process.
