Business Change

Whilst many projects involve implementing new technology or introducing new processes, successful business change is fundamentally about people. People can be unpredictable and irrational. They may want things to be different, but draw comfort from the way things are, and seek to protect the status quo when challenged by some new initiative.

We are suspicious of business change 'methods' because we're not convinced that organisations and their customers fall into nice neat categories. Experience has shown that successful business change occurs when it gets under the skin of how an organisation and its customers tick and works with it to achieve results. Superimposed methods risk annoying everyone and achieving very little.

Rather than a formal and fixed method, we approach business change using a framework developed in behavioural science and counselling. A flexible programme of interventions is developed for different groups of staff affected. By carefully evaluating the outcome after each intervention, the programme can be adjusted to ensure momentum is maintained towards overall programme goals.
