The Company
Teasel was founded in 2004 by Tim Burfoot and John Beckford.
Their personal journeys had been quite different. Tim's background is primarily market and customer management in both industry and consulting, including roles at Thomas Cook, NatWest and PwC. John has spent most of his career as a consultant and academic in the field of management science, and is Visiting Professor of Information Science at Loughborough University.
They found that their diverse experience had brought them to a shared a conviction that many organisations are compromised in their efforts to improve performance by two things. First; an inability to manage project delivery as part of a continuous cycle of change. Second; poor or inappropriate management information.
In extreme cases, organisations are getting better at doing the wrong things under a weight of manually derived and conflicting performance reports.
Teasel was established to offer an alternative way of addressing these issues that contrasts with the typical approach adopted by mainstream consulting, IT specialists and software vendors.
Teasel is wholly owned by its management and staff.
In some organisations, performance targets do little more than enable people to get better and better at doing the wrong things. A Teasel White Paper explains why.
